We unconditionally condemn both the horrific actions of what is clearly an evil individual who took the lives of so many young people in Norway and any suggestions that we are connected to any political or religious movement whatsoever, left or right aligned.
There is never an excuse for violence as a means to resolve differences. That is why we have been very outspoken on this blog against people like Julius Malema with his continual references to killing people and inciting violence. We don’t condone hate speech and never will. We don’t condone corruption and never will.
It is clear that certain individuals have had their knives in for ILSA and have been threatening to close us down because we expose corruption in the ANC (and elsewhere) and it doesn’t portray a positive image about South Africa. We have not and never will incite people to violence like so many individuals in the ANC do. The same goes for extremist groups of any kind.
We have always had a policy of not even allowing continuous vile language as used by bloggers like The Rooster and Dachshund. They are the same people who threatened to close this blog, “for the fun of it”.
The history of this blog shows that we have condemned farm murders as well as xenophobic attacks on black immigrants in South Africa. Many posts on this blog were not written by the contributors here and we have always provided sources for other material. Like with everything else in life there will be parts in all posts that some people will agree with and others not. Even the contributors have differences in opinion on certain matters. One of the aims of this blog has been the opportunity for people to discuss issues without getting aggressive or threatening each other, hence our strict policy on use of language.
In any case, the media will say what it wants to, regardless of fact. We won’t.
Good luck South Africa. May your problems be resolved and the corruption cleaned up. But our hearts are with Norway today and will be for a very long time.
In the not too distant future you will see some interesting and thought-provoking articles here. For the time being, we thought it appropriate to pay our respects to those who lost their lives with a minute's silence...

During July 2009 we posted a warning about a vicious google malware virus. We did eventually get this particular virus, the BC or "Back Chat" virus, to shut up, but it was hard work.
We have since been attacked by another virus and others have also alerted us to vicious attacks. This is not just a malware virus however, this is psychoware!
This strain of binary malignancy is attempting to erase everything on your blog site.
This information was announced yesterday morning from IBM, FBI and even Microsoft states that this is a very dangerous and malicious virus, much worse than the "I Love You," or “Melissa” virus and there is NO remedy for it at this time. The virus is so devious that it will worm into your blog just by the mention of it's name!
We must therefore tentatively refer to it as the KFC virus until we can figure out what the hell it actually is and the scope of depravity of its creator (there are some really sick individuals in this world)
This particular scum bag has succeeded in using the reformat function from Google in an attempt to eradicate all file comments on your blog site, and replace them with an inferior Trojan "peri-peri chicken wing" mimic. It has been designed to work against Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer bloggers. It will even "double size" Macintosh and IBM computer geeks alike.
Nobody, we repeat, NOBODY is safe from the “KFC” virus. Do NOT attempt to engage in "walkie-talkies", or chat back to the "KFC" Virus. It is a looping replicator virus, and you could spend hours on the internet stuck in a “bukake porn loop” (I told you, there are some really sick individuals in this world). There is no escape once you have entered this slippery slope. Sadly, most novice computer users will not realise what is happening until it is far too late.
This is a new, very malicious virus and not many people know about it. You may not be aware of it but your blog may already be infected with the "KFC" virus. Pass this warning along to EVERYONE in your address book and please share it with all your online friends ASAP so that this threat may be stopped. Please practice cautionary measures and tell anyone that may have access to your computer.
Deleting the KFC virus is very difficult, it will simply do a "run-away" and re-appear in another guise – ie, it can mutate, and not only that (take it from an expert), the virus has the capacity to auto install itself as almost anything:
"SURPRISE - DOUBLE MASH WITH GRAVY AND A COLESLAW SIDE!!"
It will then proceed to trash the computer it is running on.
Please send this information with the most number of people that you can, in case you receive a file comment from the KFC virus on any subject whatsoever.
The bottom line is: if you receive KFC file comment, the only sure fire way of avoiding infection is, once file comment has been received from KFC, simply DO NOT READ IT! DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY - It has replicator meme triggers, which we CANNOT REPRODUCE IN THIS WARNING - However, fowl language is a hallmark of this sick individual, and this will always tip you off that the KFC virus is at work, enabling you to delete the comment without much fuss.
It will feed on itself in an nth-complexity infinite binary loop, and eventually (hopefully) do a permanent "run-away " and destroy itself.
All we need now is the usual gaggle of psychotic animals to come up with some excuse for this racist, corrupt little militant bastard’s actions. Let me guess – Apartheid made him do it. Or maybe all the delusional white South Africans stuck in the past. This is the latest offering from the shallow end of the gene pool. That we just don’t understand how things are supposed to be.
I’m sure I don’t have to point out the obvious. And I’ll be damned if I provide the gaggle of psychotic animals with free publicity. They get enough from people searching for gutter mouth and liberal spammer.

Johannesburg - A secret family trust of which ANC Youth League leader Julius Malema is the sole trustee may explain how he has been bankrolling his lavish lifestyle.
The Ratanang Family Trust, named after Malema’s five-year-old son, was registered at the Office of the Master of the High Court in Pretoria on May 13 2008, five weeks after he was elected president of the youth league.
City Press can further reveal that the trust owns a 3.5 hectare smallholding outside Polokwane, bought for R900 000 in cash in June last year. No bond was registered on the smallholding, which is part of the farm Palmietfontein.
Two independent, well-placed sources with knowledge of Malema’s financial dealings told City Press that the trust was a vehicle used by the youth leader and his benefactors to fund his lifestyle. “Thousands of rands” are deposited into the account on a regular basis, they say.
Said one source: “Frequent deposits are being made from different banks, especially in Limpopo.”
The other source, a seasoned businessman who moves in Malema’s circle of friends and associates, told City Press he deposited R200 000 into the trust’s bank account after Malema facilitated a government tender for his benefit.
According to him, there are at least 20 other business people who do the same.
He said Malema sent him the number of the bank account via SMS. After depositing the money, Malema allegedly thanked him – also via an SMS.
Malema denied that the trust was being used to launder illicit funds, but declined to divulge its purpose or bank balance.
Malema on Saturday failed in his attempt to gag City Press from publishing details about his alleged use of the trust as a slush fund for corrupt payments. Malema’s legal team denied that their client was involved in criminal activity.
Viwe Notshe SC, Malema’s advocate, told the South Gauteng High Court that his client did not deny receiving money into the trust, but denied that these payments were bribes.
“He says (the payments) are contributions for this cause and that cause.”
Apart from denying that the trust was used for receiving bribes, Malema refused to answer any of City Press’ questions.
Judge Colin Lamont slammed Malema for this, saying it was in his power to set the record straight if the trust was clean.
“The applicant (Malema) dealt very superficially with fairly detailed allegations made (by City Press), allegations he could understand. He could have dealt with them in more detail,” Lamont said.
The following questions remain unanswered:
» Why did he register the trust?
» What is he using the trust for?
» Who are the beneficiaries of the trust?
» How extensively is the trust used in his business and private dealings?
» Why has he never publicly disclosed the existence of the trust when questioned about his wealth?
» When he says he is poor and the police won’t find millions in “my account”, does he also refer to the Ratanang Family Trust’s account?
» Has the trust declared income or assets to the SA Revenue Service?
» Does he use the trust to fund his lifestyle?
» Is it true that contractors, individuals and politicians deposit money into the trust, as alleged by City Press’ sources, in exchange for securing tenders, political protection or their political agendas?
Malema this week lambasted the media for enquiring into his mysteriously acquired wealth, saying his money was nobody’s business.
This came after reports that he is rebuilding and upgrading his R3.6 million Sandown house, and installing an underground bunker in the event of his security being threatened.
Malema has persistently claimed he is poor and doesn’t have millions in the bank when questioned about his wealth.
Queries escalated after City Press revealed his link to government tenders in Limpopo last year.
In an interview with the Mail & Guardian in March last year, Malema said he lived on “hand-outs” most of the time.
He dared the police to “go to my account and find millions. They must take those millions and put them into institutions that can help children of the poor.”
Until now, the only public acknowledgment of the trust was at an October 2009 function in Malema’s hometown, Seshego, at which the newly built Seshego Baptist Church was unveiled.
It was reported after the event that Malema himself funded the building of the church in honour of his late mother, Mahlodi, who was a member.
A small bronze plate fixed to the church reveals it was built by the Ratanang Family Trust.
Although his salary from the ANC has never been publicly confirmed, it is rumoured to be about R50 000 a month.
According to records from the deed’s office, Malema’s trust bought a portion of the Palmietfontein farm near the Silicon Smelters last June. It was registered three months later.
At least three of Malema’s neighbours at Palmietfontein said they knew he owned the plot. They said they had seen him at least three times at the farmhouse, which had been vacant for 10 months.
Said one man: “Personally, I have seen him two or three times. He just comes, walks around the property to see whether it is still fine and then leaves. Nobody stays here.”
Another plot owner, who said he was looking forward to living side by side with the youth leader, said: “The place has been vacant for 10 months. The previous owner left. The house has always been like this. No renovations have been done.”
A land claim was registered against the Palmietfontein farm by the Ga-Mothapo community in 1995. In September 2009, the claim was extended to include, among others, the portion Malema now owns.
Meanwhile, Malema on Saturday told thousands of villagers in Tshikondeni, Venda, that: “They can write their nonsense, we don’t care about them. They can say whatever they say about us, we don’t care.”

This post is inspired by Mike Smith's latest offering ANC Lies Exposed and Countered. Please do yourself a favour and read it...There is a hell of a lot of research and painstaking slog that has gone into it, something that is sadly lacking in blogs of late. Too many of us are blogging just for fun, and I'm one of them. Indeed the post I'm doing right now was knocked up in just 10 minutes...
So I'd like to pay tribute to Mike Smith (Uncle Cracker) for showing how blogging should be done.
Mike's article is detailed and thorough, containing no less than thirty four links in eight layers. He exposes the lies and deceit of the ANC, layer by layer until the eighth, revealing a deeply embarrassed and very naked emperor!
The tale of the naked emperor by Hans Christian Anderson is the perfect pride-turned-arrogance-turned-tragedy denial story of the ANC in South Africa supported by the world (the audience of Anderson's tale) too ashamed and perhaps still naively hopeful, to face up to the large scale disaster that post apartheid South Africa is turning out to be, and somehow, to carry on the pretence is better than admitting the truth....
All I can say is thank goodness we have the Mike Smiths out there (the kid in Christian's tale) who say "Hang on, wait a minute, let's have another look at this...hey, the emperor is farking naked!"....
And just like that kid, you don't have to go along with the mainstream bullshit and lies because deep in your heart you know it's bullshit. Not only is the emperor naked, he's in cahoots with the scoundrels.
Once upon a time there lived a vain Emperor whose only worry in life was to dress in elegant clothes. He changed clothes almost every hour and loved to show them off to his people.
Word of the Emperor's refined habits spread over his kingdom and beyond. Two scoundrels who had heard of the Emperor's vanity decided to take advantage of it. They introduced themselves at the gates of the palace with a scheme in mind.
"We are two very good tailors and after many years of research we have invented an extraordinary method to weave a cloth so light and fine that it looks invisible. As a matter of fact it is invisible to anyone who is too stupid and incompetent to appreciate its quality."
The chief of the guards heard the scoundrel's strange story and sent for the court chamberlain. The chamberlain notified the prime minister, who ran to the Emperor and disclosed the incredible news. The Emperor's curiosity got the better of him and he decided to see the two scoundrels.
"Besides being invisible, your Highness, this cloth will be woven in colors and patterns created especially for you." The emperor gave the two men a bag of gold coins in exchange for their promise to begin working on the fabric immediately.
"Just tell us what you need to get started and we'll give it to you." The two scoundrels asked for a loom, silk, gold thread and then pretended to begin working. The Emperor thought he had spent his money quite well: in addition to getting a new extraordinary suit, he would discover which of his subjects were ignorant and incompetent. A few days later, he called the old and wise prime minister, who was considered by everyone as a man with common sense.
"Go and see how the work is proceeding," the Emperor told him, "and come back to let me know."
The prime minister was welcomed by the two scoundrels.
"We're almost finished, but we need a lot more gold thread. Here, Excellency! Admire the colors, feel the softness!" The old man bent over the loom and tried to see the fabric that was not there. He felt cold sweat on his forehead.
"I can't see anything," he thought. "If I see nothing, that means I'm stupid! Or, worse, incompetent!" If the prime minister admitted that he didn't see anything, he would be discharged from his office.
"What a marvelous fabric, he said then. "I'll certainly tell the Emperor." The two scoundrels rubbed their hands gleefully. They had almost made it. More thread was requested to finish the work.
Finally, the Emperor received the announcement that the two tailors had come to take all the measurements needed to sew his new suit.
"Come in," the Emperor ordered. Even as they bowed, the two scoundrels pretended to be holding large roll of fabric.
"Here it is your Highness, the result of our labour," the scoundrels said. "We have worked night and day but, at last, the most beautiful fabric in the world is ready for you. Look at the colors and feel how fine it is." Of course the Emperor did not see any colors and could not feel any cloth between his fingers. He panicked and felt like fainting. But luckily the throne was right behind him and he sat down. But when he realized that no one could know that he did not see the fabric, he felt better. Nobody could find out he was stupid and incompetent. And the Emperor didn't know that everybody else around him thought and did the very same thing.
The farce continued as the two scoundrels had foreseen it. Once they had taken the measurements, the two began cutting the air with scissors while sewing with their needles an invisible cloth.
"Your Highness, you'll have to take off your clothes to try on your new ones." The two scoundrels draped the new clothes on him and then held up a mirror. The Emperor was embarrassed but since none of his bystanders were, he felt relieved.
"Yes, this is a beautiful suit and it looks very good on me," the Emperor said trying to look comfortable. "You've done a fine job."
"Your Majesty," the prime minister said, "we have a request for you. The people have found out about this extraordinary fabric and they are anxious to see you in your new suit." The Emperor was doubtful showing himself naked to the people, but then he abandoned his fears. After all, no one would know about it except the ignorant and the incompetent.
"All right," he said. "I will grant the people this privilege." He summoned his carriage and the ceremonial parade was formed. A group of dignitaries walked at the very front of the procession and anxiously scrutinized the faces of the people in the street. All the people had gathered in the main square, pushing and shoving to get a better look. An applause welcomed the regal procession. Everyone wanted to know how stupid or incompetent his or her neighbor was but, as the Emperor passed, a strange murmur rose from the crowd.
Everyone said, loud enough for the others to hear: "Look at the Emperor's new clothes. They're beautiful!"
"What a marvellous train!"
"And the colors!
...."The colors of that beautiful fabric! I have never seen anything like it in my life!" They all tried to conceal their disappointment at not being able to see the clothes, and since nobody was willing to admit his own stupidity and incompetence, they all behaved as the two scoundrels had predicted.
A child, however, who had no important job and could only see things as his eyes showed them to him, went up to the carriage.
"The Emperor is naked," he said.
"Fool!" his father reprimanded, running after him. "Don't talk nonsense!" He grabbed his child and took him away. But the boy's remark, which had been heard by the bystanders, was repeated over and over again until everyone cried:
"The boy is right! The Emperor is naked! It's true!"
The Emperor realized that the people were right but could not admit to that. He thought it better to continue the procession under the illusion that anyone who couldn't see his clothes was either stupid or incompetent. And he stood stiffly on his carriage, while behind him a page held his imaginary mantle.
Here is a prime example of the state of affairs at the typical local municipality in South Africa. In short it can only be described as a total breakdown of financial controls and corporate governance.
Related links: The state of our municipalities
Bloemfontein - Managers and officials of the Setsoto local municipality could face criminal and disciplinary charges over allegations of theft, fraud and corruption, the Free State government said on Thursday.
Free State Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Mamiki Qabathe ordered a probe into the municipality after protester Andries Tatane died in service delivery protests earlier this year.
In an executive summary of its report released on Wednesday, it found that the municipality was in total disarray with no proper management and financial control.
It was totally unstable because of widespread theft, fraud and corruption.
The investigation found that supply chain management department staff were often coerced by senior managers into making orders that were against policy.
It recommended that the municipality's director of corporate services be suspended and investigated over alleged illegal staff appointments and the unauthorised buying of vehicles.
The chief financial officer should also be suspended and disciplined for allegedly buying 90 desktop computers at inflated prices.
The municipality’s IT officer should also face disciplinary charges over the employment of his fiancée at the municipality.
The investigators also recommended that two demand and acquisition clerks be suspended pending criminal investigation of fraud and corruption.
Another clerk in the same department should be sent on precautionary leave pending a forensic investigation.
Co-operative governance spokesperson Ntai Mokhitli said the full report could not be released because of the pending disciplinary charges against some officials.
In the summary, investigators indicated that the Meqheleng Concerned Citizens (MCC) group under whose leadership most of the protests were conducted had some "personal interests" in the Setsoto local municipality.
One of the findings was that the MCC wanted "our comrades" to be appointed at the municipality.
The investigators said that in a letter from the MCC to the municipality on March 25, a request was made for "intervention and collaboration in the filling of the vacant advertised posts".
In the letter, the MCC said it would be "appropriate" for the accounting officer to give 18 of "our people" employment in the municipality.
"All this will count in your favour as the municipality," the MCC wrote.
"We’ll provide you with the list of all our comrades today, March 25 2011."
Earlier, MCC spokesperson Sam Motseare said this allegations and others were not true.
"It's a blatant lie," he said.
The Setsoto municipality covers the towns of Ficksburg, Senekal, Clocolan and Marquard.
Mokhitli said the report and recommendations were tabled before the Setsoto municipal council last week.
The department would closely monitor the implementation of the recommendations.

David Blood's article is spot on...You know what I hate about the "Rainbow" apologists? They keep yak yak yakking on about how the standards in the NSA have actually been improved for the "previously disadvantaged" but they neglect to factor in the previously normal country that SA used to be, and how dramatically those standards have declined...It goes like this:
"Ignore the declining standards in your particular area/ zone/ town/ municipality and try to remember that millions have had an improvement in their life by a nominal percentage point since 1994 because of the socio-economic changes brought about by the ANC...The available pie is being re-distributed and all you are experiencing is that more people have to eat from the same pie now, than prior to 1994."
Crazy shit and fucking bollocks mate!
Throwing out the baby with the bath water is what it is... Has "dumbing down to the lowest common denominator" lost all relevance in SA?
Crazy shit and bollocks mate!
I saw it in SA myself last year in November when I was there for a week.
Read my personal post about declining standards in a small town that has cost ALL races a privilege and a right they previously used to enjoy (even after 1994) and never will again! ANC greed and corruption STOLE it from the average Joe or Sipho...It makes you sick...In the end this locust feeding frenzy of the ANC will leave everybody with nothing...
Go on Dave, tell 'em (you verkrampte old ballie)
Remember the days when Sandton and Randburg were municipal areas, they even had their own vehicle registration plates, like Kempton Park, Benoni, Germiston and Edenvale? Some of them were cities in their own right – using the internationally recognised definition of a city – and some were towns. They had mayors and they ran their own affairs.
Today we have huge unmanageable metros, teetering on the edge of bankruptcy and in some cases already over that edge. Corruption, incompetence and lawlessness, most of which is ignored by those in charge.
During the past month, my local weekly rag has had a front-page story each week of a house burning down or a business fire that destroyed the premises, and in each case the fire department had failed to respond timeously or had responded with inadequate equipment, leaky hoses, waterless trucks or not enough or inadequately trained personnel – three on a unit instead of five.
God forbid you should be involved in a serious motor vehicle accident and require paramedic treatment or rescue. There are very few working ambulances and those that are working do not have the required medical supplies on board for life support.
Driving home the other night down the N1 between Fourways and Rivonia, the traffic came to a grinding halt just before the Rivonia offramp. There had been a serious multi-vehicle pile up. I had been passed by two private medical rescue vehicles after Fourways, there were three private ambulances heading up the hill towards Fourways. These would have to turn and go back down the hill to get to the casualties, there were two private ambulances on the scene of the accident and a paramedic crew, plus I saw two more medical rescue vehicles and another two ambulances heading in that direction as I continued up the hill away from the crash site, having cleverly skirted around it via the Rivonia offramp. Not a single municipal ambulance or rescue vehicle was to be seen.
What do they do with the rates and taxes that we pay every month? I have it on good authority that some 80% on ANC run municipal metros spend +/- 75% of their income on salaries and other expendables compared with the recommended 25% of income, so no wonder there is nothing left for service delivery and they are obviously not paying the 75% to the union workers as we have had strike after strike by municipal workers for more pay.
Another interesting fact is that the old Krugersdorp municipality had a bank balance of R750 million in 1994 when they handed it over – 18 months later they were asking Trevor Manuel for a grant as it had all gone.
Well, the ANC – which runs most of the metros – said it would clean up municipalities and ensure that they were properly audited in 2010.
• 20% of municipalities failed to submit proper audit reports
• 50% of audit reports submitted were found to be “not trustworthy”
• 70% of those reports submitted had financial data that was unusable
• 25% of municipalities cannot produce supporting documentation to substantiate their spending
The situation in most municipal metros is so bad due to non payment of rates, taxes and services, including electricity and water, that the Metro police have been given budgets to be achieved through speed trapping and other forms of ticketing – mainly cellphone abuse – in order to keep them afloat. In a 2005 report Gauteng had over R900 million in unpaid fines outstanding – that’s probably two weeks’ fines today.
That explains why you see dozens of motorists drive through stop streets without any fear; they know the cops are hiding under trees or behind walls with laser cameras stuck to their faces. Prosecution is far easier than crime prevention especially if you don’t actually have to stop a reckless driver or get off your arse.
And while this is happening, millions of rand are wasted annually on huge parties, overseas trips, hotel accommodation, flash cars and other non-essential functions, while ambulances and fire trucks go without maintenance – not to mention the state of hospitals and traffic lights, which often stay inoperative for months on end.
Have you ever counted how many missing stop signs there are, or missing street signs on your way home? Where are they? All in scrap yards, sold to some unscrupulous metal dealers for a few rand. Is that all your life is worth? The Metro police drive past them every day but do they do anything about getting the missing signs replaced?
Why do we have municipal bylaws? In most cases, they were instituted prior to 1994 and are still in effect. Some have been revised but they are never enforced. You will find an intersection with “No Hawking” signs on the traffic lights and on the verges while there are 20 or 30 guys trying to flog pirate DVDs, flash drives, sunglasses, cell phone paraphernalia and dozens of other items, while directly under the “No Hawking” sign on the roadside a guy has set up a pile of tyres and furniture to sell.
I pulled up next to a Metro police car at one of these intersections and asked the occupant why they didn’t arrest these law breakers and she just laughed at me and said: “what must we do?”– so much for law enforcement!
There are hundreds of bylaws for each metro. These are available either online or from their offices and they make very interesting reading – if you want a good laugh! – “No washing may be hung from windows or on balconies of any building in the municipal area”. Now there’s a joke!
“No cooked food may be sold in a public place without a licence and then only in a designated area.” Oh yeah! What about the ladies who cook their mielies over coal fires on every open corner, belching acrid smoke and polluting the air? Have you ever seen one being carted away?
You may not wash a car in the street or undertake repairs to a motor vehicle in a public place – ja well no fine!
Your neighbour is too lazy to buy black plastic bags and place his garbage out for collection but rather burns it in his garden – which by the way breaks another of these byelaws - with styrofoam, plastic, rotting meat and other disgusting smells producing a cloud of smoke that comes straight into your house – not back into his – straight into your house. You phone the fire department – they are not interested. You phone the Metro police; they don’t respond to domestic fires. You go to the SAPS to lay a charge and they laugh at you and tell you to go to the Metro police, which is where you started, and then they wonder why neighbours get into domestic disputes!
People who live in Cape Town advise they don’t have these problems … I wonder why?

Heads up whitey...You have no more form of protest or resistance...Even an ill conceived joke, although perfectly harmless, will be met with brutal force by the SAPS.
Yet, Julius can scream his hate from the hill tops (..."Kill the Boer, kill the farmer") and you will just have to shut up about it...Just Shut Up Whitey! There is no crime that Julius has committed, no offense at all in fact...
It's just you whites who are offended by Julius' utterances merely because you are racists (why are you racists? Because you are white, that's why you are racists)
But boy oh boy, just try a little funny trick on us whitey! How dare you? You are gonna get hobnailed you bastard, you bloody agent with your hidden agenda and your tendencies....
And while you're busy shutting up your mouth whitey, get used to the idea that the MSM will pejoratively describe YOUR race in any article where whites commit a crime or even a petty transgression, but when blacks do it, it's always described in non biased, non racial terms...
So with that, to all you clam-mouthed whiteys, I hope you all had a lekker happy Saint Mandela day...Don't forget to tune into SABC 2 for yet another reminder!
Six men have been arrested for allegedly using stickers to rename Nelson Mandela Drive Clive Derby Lewis Drive on directional boards in Pretoria, police said on Monday.
Lt-Col Tshisikhawe Ndou said the six white men were caught on CCTV cameras along Nelson Mandela Drive in Sunnyside on Sunday night.
“The police rushed to the scene and arrested the six who were found with several replacement stickers. They were immediately arrested and taken to Sunnyside police station.”
They refused to explain their actions to police.
The men, aged between 25 and 38, were charged with malicious damage to property and expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. Ndou said they had not been linked to any right-wing movements.
Derby-Lewis, a former Conservative Party politician, is serving a life sentence for his role in the assassination of SA Communist Party secretary general Chris Hani.
Hani was assassinated on April 10, 1993 outside his home in Dawn Park, a racially-mixed suburb of Boksburg. Using a gun provided by Derby-Lewis, Polish far-right immigrant Janusz Walus shot him in the head as he stepped out of his car.

Note the headline says "ANC's Malema"
This article is from the San Francisco Chronicle. A Google search will confirm how the utter stupidity and moronic utterances of Idi-aMalema are spilling over internationally...Who needs enemies when you have friends like this?
Just one year ago the Country was engulfed in the euphoria of the soccer world cup and now it's strikes, revolution and nationalisation....What a drag...
July 16 (Bloomberg) -- Critics of a call by the African National Congress Youth League to nationalize South African mines and banks are full of "hot air" and offer no alternatives to the agenda for "real economic transformation," said Julius Malema, the League's president.
"All we hear from all these forces is that they are opposed to nationalization of mines and expropriation without compensation. They have no alternatives and proposals on how the country moves forward," Malema said in an e-mailed statement today.
Comments by businesses that the nationalization debate threatens investment and jobs in the country amount to intimidation, Malema said.
At a national meeting last month, the League called for "economic freedom fighters to intensify the battle for total economic, social and political emancipation of the black majority," Malema said.
Included in the organization's "program for economic freedom" is a call to put in place legislative mechanisms that "empower the state to expropriate without compensation for public interest," Malema said.
The ANC Youth League will talk to businesses and organized labor in the next few weeks about its plans to nationalize mines and banks, he said.

I am a huge fan of Alex Engwete, and read his blogs religiously, to his dismay maybe, and I am going to repost his posting of July 6, 2011, with the topic our beloved JuJu.
Some of his observations are telling.
To name a few out of the below blog are:
He, Alex, consider white South Africans as a minority. I wonder how that fits into the worldwide perception and general accepted practice that any minority should be protected.
He also observes that Malema hates white people. I wonder if the emotion of hate is part of the prerequisite to be a racist.
The rest of Africa already sees South Africa’s democracy for what it really is. A de facto one part state.
And o yes, he thinks Malema is insane.
The writing is on the wall for white South Africans…….
And the one comment to this posting is also telling. Malema supporters do not like the truth.

Batshit insane: America, “You bloodthirsty imperialists” (Julius Malema aka JuJu)
There’s a batshit crazy young post-apartheid black politician on the loose in South Africa. His name is Julius Malema. At thirty years of age, he is the president of the ruling ANC party Youth League (ANCYL). His mischiefs—mostly, words verging on hate speech sputtered at the minority white South-African citizens—are so numerous people have all but given up counting them—or trying to correct the falsehoods they contain.
Malema seems afflicted with bad temper disorder in his dealings with white people. BBC journalist Jonah Fisher had a firsthand experience of Malema’s mercurial temper in August 2010 when he had the bad idea of contradicting the ANCYL president at a press conference held at Chief Albert Luthuli House, the ANC headquarters in Johannesburg, during which Malema was lashing out at the Zimbabwean opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai.
A seething Julius Malema kicked Fisher out of the press conference room, telling him:
“Here you behave or else you jump. Don't come here with that white tendency, go out bastard, bloody agent. (…)This is not a playground. This is not a beerhall. Don't abuse us in our own space, in our own house... this is my house.”
Malema’s latest mischief happened today, Wednesday, July 6, when he spoke to a throng of about 300 striking members of the National Union of Metal Workers of South Africa (NUMSA), armed with “knobkerries” (bats) and blowing “vuvuzuelas,” who took time from their picket lines to protest against NATO bombing campaign in Libya outside the US embassy in Pretoria.
Some of the protesters carried banners that read: “Mrs. Obama stop kissing South African babies while your husband is bombing Libyan children.”
Then, Julius Malema spoke to the crowd:
“We want to ask a simple question to the imperialists. Are you not tired of seeing blood every year? You blood thirsty imperialists... Every year you are bombing this or that nation, because of your thirstiness for blood. We should all agree that South Africa should not have voted for the resolution... They (the United States) can't think. They don't know politics.”
Fearing to be outdone by Julius Malema, Phil Bokapa, NUMSA deputy president, threw more red meat at the crowd, calling President Obama a white man in a black man’s body!
The Economist recently broached a disquieting future prospect of whom it called “malignant Malema” on the occasion of his “triumphant re-election unopposed as leader of the powerful Youth League of the ruling National Congress (ANC)” that had “South Africans (…) beginning to wonder whether they have not spawned a ‘dictator-in-waiting’, as Helen Zille, leader of the Democratic Alliance, the main opposition party, has dubbed him.”
“Young JuJu, as he is familiarly known, has the wind in his sails. His ego is huge. He is tough, clever and has a disarming cheeky grin. Among his heroes, he counts Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe, Cuba’s Fidel Castro and Libya’s Muammar Qaddafi. President Jacob Zuma might once have been included in his list but is now the unnamed butt of much of Mr Malema’s stinging criticism about a lack of leadership. Many believe he is now preparing to topple the very man he helped make king. They may be forgetting that the wily Mr Zuma can be ruthless too.”
Let’s just hope that Zuma’s wiliness and ruthlessness would have him take this madman out of the picture sooner than later….before he’s elected one of these days President of the Republic of South Africa by the parliamentarians of the de facto one-party state

Continuing in similar vein to the Malala post below "Corruption Eclipses Sunshine"
Great to have a Prez who was acquitted on 783 counts of fraud huh? (don't come at me with semantics, what Zuma got was waaaay better than an acquittal. A copy-and-paste-get-out-of-jail-free card was more like it)...
Glad to see that at least for some blacks the "mind fog" is lifting...Now how the heck to tackle the mindlessness of the lumpen underclass (millions of 'em) who hold a vote equal to any other and who brought you the current dolt who is your "Proudly South African" President...
Or is it too late?
By: Thabile Mange:
After the dawn of our democracy, South Africa became the beacon of hope on the continent. It also became a model and standard to be measured against by most African countries. We proved Afro-pessimists and sceptics wrong.
The country boasts of three eminent and living Nobel Peace Laureates in the persons of former president Nelson Mandela, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and the last apartheid president FW de Klerk. Two of them, Mandela and Tutu, once lived in the same street in Soweto. What a blessing!
Previously, we’ve hosted prestigious world events such as the Rugby World Cup, Cricket World Cup and recently the most successful Soccer World Cup ever, just to mention three – the world events we hosted are not isolated to sports. We were the envy of many countries. Not anymore. What has gone wrong?
According to Cosatu’s Zwelinzima Vavi, we are now a “predator state”. That’s how bad things have become in our country. We are now in the same league as some African countries. And it doesn’t look like we’ll improve anytime soon.
Corruption, the cancer that is eating away at the soul of our nation, has become normal and acceptable. Statements such as “it’s our turn to eat” have become common. The struggle is no longer about bread and butter issues; it’s about access to state resources.
Political leaders are more than happy to flaunt their newly acquired wealth in the face of poverty. They drive around with flashy cars and wear designer clothing that are worth more than what they earn. And they would rather buy booze than pay school fees for a poor but deserving child.
People who boldly fight corruption are targeted and intimidated. Some are even killed. It appears corrupt individuals wield political power or are politically connected. And they mostly get away with murder.
Corruption is rampant especially in local governments - this is because of tenders awarded to comrades, I suppose. Most, if not many, municipalities have received unqualified financial reports. This is a cause for concern.
Once we had an effective unit called the Scorpions that dealt with high profile cases. Though it was imperfect, it did a good and sterling job. It also enjoyed public confidence. And it had head honcho’s who had the courage to investigate even their comrades, including the then deputy president Jacob Zuma.
It is interesting to note that the effective unit has since been replaced by the Hawks, which is led by advocate Menzi Simelane. Against public opinion, the ANC used its majority in parliament to kill the Scorpions. However, the constitutionality of the above decision has been successfully challenged in court and government has agreed to implement the judge’s recommendations.
Unlike her predecessor, the public protector advocate Thuli Madonsela has shown willingness to fight corruption. Madonsela is prepared to take on the political heavyweights. But her boldness has earned her enemies and she fears for her life.
The pertinent question is: will advocate Madonsela see through her term, given the history of those who boldly fight against corruption? Or will she follow in the footsteps of the former Scorpions boss Vusi Pikoli and leave before her term expires? Only time will tell.
It appears there is no political will to deal with corruption in this country. When Zuma came to power, he identified corruption as one of the major challenges facing the nation and promised to deal with it harshly. He is yet to act on his promise to fight this evil.
For instance, the minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs Sicelo Shiceka is being accused of misusing the taxpayer’s money. The ailing Shiceka is said to have visited his detained girlfriend in prison, overseas, using the taxpayer’s money. Zuma is yet to act on the allegation.
The consequences of corruption are enormous: this evil has brought promising countries down on their knees. Is this what we want to see happening to our country? I don’t think so. But if there is no political will to fight this demon, we’ll soon become a basket case.
Mark my words.

From March 12th, 2011.
An anti-voting boycott has been launched amongst the 3-million-strong [ Ron edit: 1.5 million as total White Afrikaans population is at 3.5 - 4.5 million. ] Boer minority in South Africa. Declining to vote in the admittedly-fraudulent ANC-run electoral system, instead there’s a groundswell of support for autonomy for this besieged ‘white’ minority.
Conservatives not only decided to boycottthe forthcoming national elections under the ANC-regime – they have also launched the Volksraadsverkiesingskommissie – an electoral election commission which plans to hold its first all-Boer elections to chose their own leaders in their own traditional Boer volksraad in September. Their only purpose is to gain autonomy for the Boer people – peacefully.
Meanwhile the boycotters against the ANC-run national and municipal elections — such as Kallie du Preez, (writing in the Parys Gazette), mount powerful arguments against the Freedom Front party’s claim that ‘a no-vote for them would be a vote for the ANC.’
Instead, many Boers believe that the Freedom Front Plus should step out of ANC-ruled electoral processes altogether, and join them instead to try and obtain political autonomy. The Freedom Front Plus already represents the “Afrikaners’ in the Unrepresented Nations and People’s organisation in The Hague (UNPO). The FF+ also supports the idea of an independent homeland for the ‘white’ minority in South Africa. It has most of its support in the Christian-Afrikaner enclave Orania. However the Boers view the FF+ as sellouts for continuing to participate in the increasingly chaotic and fraudulent ANC-cabinet, where its leader Pieter Mulder was appointed as deputy-minister of Agriculture.
Du Preez writes: “The Politics of Lies have brought the Boers to this predicament”:
“It is exactly by participating in the Politics of the Lies that our nation has ended up in its present predicament. For 17 years the so called ‘opposition parties’ have been growing fat in the seats of parliament, but everything merely deteriorates at a increasingly rapid rate. The FF leader sits on the gravy-train together with the ANC and they only have one purpose: namely Rands and Cents. This so-called opposition party just sits and eats up the hard-earned taxpayer’s money. “
Vote Right – Stay Away:
He warns (article below): “Be aware of the non-vote factor. It could become the majority which can never be beaten at the polls. So wake up. Vote right – stay away.’ He also urged Boer voters to withhold their taxes ‘from this corrupt and sick system.’ “Please explain to 5-million – if we all stand together – could ever beat 50-million black voters at the polls? Do you think that we (Boers) can beat this very diseased, rotten and corrupt ‘democracy of the ANC’ at any polling booths? So do you really think they (the ANC) will give up their present lavish existence voluntarily – even if they were to loose at a ‘cooked’ election?”
“Everything which our forefathers built up and owned, they bought with their blood. And we (Boers) have lost everything they created – at the Voting booths. Our party is ‘Vote Right – Stay Away”.
The Freedom Front Plus Party – which drew only 127,217 votes from the white Afrikaans-speakers in the last election in 2004 and have a mere four very ineffective members in Parliament – have in turn obtained the help of big crowd-pullers such as the extremely popular artist/singer/songwriter Bok van Blerk. He composed the song “My Kreet” (My Scream), an emotional plea for help for his besieged people, and in which he also pleads with his fans to continue voting in the ANC-ruled electoral system.
- His video was placed on the website of Solidarity trade union’s Helpende Hand charity – which feeds nearly 1-million impoverished Boers in more than 640 squatter-camps: brought to the begging cup by the ANC-regime’s vast number of illegal labour-restriction laws barring ‘whites’ from the entire SA labour market. http://www.helpendehand.co.za/my-kreet-bok-van-blerk/
Boers have no influence on any ANC-ruled electoral process whatsoever:
Indeed there seems to be very little point for Boers to participate in any national elections organized by the ANC-regime, because of their very small minority of no more than 3-million people. [ Ron ed- no more than 1.5 million. ] White voters are fractured into a variety of parties including the Democratic Alliance under Helen Zille – who does not speak up on behalf of Boer/Afrikaner voters – and tiny parties such as the Christian Democrats. The Boer-Afrikaners who have persistently voted for the Freedom Front Party only managed to gain four seats in the National Assembly (parliament). And only one Afrikaner from this party serves in the cabinet: deputy-minister of agricultural Pieter Mulder.. Previously, under the leadership of General Constand Viljoen, 424,555 Boer/Afrikaners had cast their votes for the Freedom Front party in 1994. However under the leadership of Pieter Mulder, its support dropped to 127,217 Boer/Afrikaner votes in 2004.
The Boer/Afrikaner’s minority-representation in parliament is so minimal that none of their representatives in Parliament – despite always vehemently opposing and objecting and campaigning against the large number of genocidal anti-white employment laws put in place by the ANC-regime – have been totally unable to block any of this illegal ANC-legislation which is impoverishing its own electorate at a very rapid rate.
- 1994 election was unconstitutional, said Afrikaner/Boer parties which refused to participate… In 1994, initially NONE of the Boer-Afrikaner parties had registered for the 1994 elections and had refused to do so on the grounds that they viewed the election as unconstitutional. In a move that greatly dismayed and upset other Boer-Afrikaner conservatives, Genl Konstant Viljoen registered the Freedom Front with the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) on 4 March 1994 to take part in the April 1994 general elections. On 12 March 1994 Viljoen handed in a list of candidates for the FF to the IEC, confirming that his party would take part in the elections.
Freedom Front received 424,555 votes (2.2%) in 1994; 127.217 (0.8%) in 1999; 139,465 (0.89%) in 2004… and never managed to stop any of the ANC’s anti-white employment laws…
In the 1994 election, under the leadership of General Viljoen, the Freedom Front received 2.2% of the national vote (with 424,555 votes cast) and nine seats in the National Assembly. In the 1999 election their support dropped to 0.8% (127,217 votes cast) with three seats in the National Assembly. In 2001, Viljoen handed over the leadership of the Freedom Front to Dr. Pieter Mulder.
In 2003, shortly before the 2004 general election, the Conservative Party, the Afrikaner Eenheids Beweging and the Freedom Front decided to contest the election as a single entity under the name Freedom Front Plus (FF+), led by Dr. Mulder. Later, also the Federal Alliance joined the VF+/FF+. In the 2004 general election, support for the Freedom Front rose slightly to 0.89% (139,465 votes cast). The party won one seat in most of the provincial legislatures, and four seats in the National Assembly. In the 2006 municipal elections, the Freedom Front Plus received 1% of the popular vote (252,253 votes cast). In the 2009 general election, the party received 0.83% (146,796 votes cast) and retained its four seats in the National Assembly, and the full support from the small Christian-Afrikaner enclave Orania. After the elections, the Freedom Front’s leader Pieter Mulder was appointed as Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries by the new President Jacob Zuma.
Alternatives: a newly independent Boer Republic where Boers represent only their own nation’s interests:
A groundswell of support has been growing steadily for a brand-new movement: the Boers want to create their own political home; elect their own representatives and have for this purpose founded the Volksraadsverkiesingskommissie (VVK)– the Boer Folk Electoral Commission.
They want to hold their own elections to chose their own natural leaders without any outside interference from black political leaders. The VVK has one purpose: to gain legal autonomy for themselves by electing efficient leaders who can argue their case in the national- and international forums.
Their temporary convenor, legal counsellor Paul Kruger is targeted by a disinformation campaign in which he is targeted by infamous Piet “Skiet” Rudolph and several cohorts (description of his career below). This burly crowd of Afrikaner bullies showed up at the latest meeting of the VVK on February 17 2011 in Paardekraal, Krugersdorp – one man walked up to Kruger and slugged him so hard, without any provocation, that Kruger ‘s nose bled profusely while he continued his speech. Three men were arrested at this meeting: one was Piet Rudolph, who threatened another Boer with a firearm, according to Kruger.
Piet Rudolph – the man of all parties:
Rudolph has always been a ‘man for all parties”. He also was widely known among Afrikaner conservatives for acting as the ‘ political bully ‘ at many of their meetings. Boer-State Party leader Robert van Tonder told me personally that he and other party-members became “wary” of Rudolph, and voted him out as their deputy-leader because of his rapid party-hopping: born in the village of Vischkuil near Springs in June 1937, Rudolph first became city councilor in Pretoria for the National Party breakaway – the Herstigte Nasionale Party led by Dr Albert Hertzog. Then he suddenly joined the Conservative Party; then the Afrikaner Weerstandsbeweging; then he became a deputy leader of Boerestaat Party and was voted out.. On April 15, 1990, angry at the unbanning of the ANC and the South African Communist Party, Rudolph suddenly led a group of young Boer men who proceeded to steal a large quantity of weapons from the South African Airforce Head Office’s armoury. In June 1990 Rudolph released a video in which he declared war on the government of South Africa, the ANC and SACP. It “was no longer time to talk” and that it “is better to die in glory than live in disgrace”, Rudolph said at the time. “All we need is about 500 Boers who are prepared to give their lives on the altar of our ideal to ensure success,” he said. He went to ground amidst much publicity, but was not given much support from any of his former political friends, including Boer State party leader Robert van Tonder. The latter, at the time, also personally told me that he ‘opposed Rudolph’s use of violence to gain political independence for the Boers. ‘ In this period, the Boer State Party had applied for membership of UNPO – but was turned down because of the violent actions by Rudolph. UNPO membership is only granted if unrepresented minorities swear off the use of violence to gain their political objectives.
Van Tonder also told me personally that members of his party had become ‘suspicious’ of Rudolph. Rudolph apparently eventually gave himself up in Pretoria on September 17, 1990 and led police to his arms cache. The circumstances remain murky to this day. He later was awarded R110,000 in damages from the police following an altercation with officers at the Boeremag trial in the Pretoria High Court – where Paul Kruger, the present convenor of the VVK, had been the legal counsel representing the imprisoned Boeremag men who were accused of treason. They are still sitting in a high-security jail to this day, as ‘trial-awaiting prisons’ in a trial which could go on for another 5 years… According to the ‘Pretoria News’, Rudolph had initially claimed more than R500,000 in damages from the Minister of Safety and Security, but the matter was settled with the police agreeing to pay him R110,000. It was said that Rudolph called the police “traitors and sellouts of the Boere people” because he did not want his wife searched before she entered the court. The elderly Rudolph then told the policeman, who was 1.82m and weighed 130kg, “Mannetjie, ek donner jou (I’ll smack you)”, before grabbing one of them by the tie”. - Sapa source: http://www.iol.co.za/news/crime-courts/piet-skiet-held-after-bloody-fight-1.1029042?ot=inmsa.ArticlePrintPageLayout.ot

I don’t have a very high regard for journalists. One only has to look at liberal and leftist bias in everyday reporting, especially with the major media outlets, to realise that most have forgotten the concept of supplying worthy reading material. Objective reporting is as scarce as rocking horse poo.
But once in a while somebody comes along to set the standard again. Somebody with the ability to look beyond political correctness, playing the race card and peddling the blame game. Somebody who, well, says it like it is. No strings attached.
I might actually be convinced that journalism isn’t dead…
In the early 1990s South African cynics coined a phrase that they gleefully used to denigrate journalists who saw the positive side of the changes the country was going through.
As Nelson Mandela and his comrades were released from jail, the ANC and other liberation movements were unbanned and exiles returned home, these "optimistic" journalists wrote about the non-racial country we were being given and the inclusive future we had the possibility of building.
Yet the cynics kept having a go at them. South Africa, they said, would go the way of all Africa: wars, poverty, and corruption.
The journalists were accused of "sunshine journalism". They were told they were blind to "the real ANC" and its communist allies. They were told the country would implode in 1994.
South Africa did not implode. Instead, under the wisdom of Mandela and the steady hand of Thabo Mbeki, what followed were 14 fat years of economic growth and stability. Don't get me wrong - there were massive failures as well under these two presidents, but the trajectory was upwards and onwards.
I have always been a sunshine journalist. Whenever I have attended ANC meetings and been confronted by angry loyalists asking why I criticise them, my answer is simple: "I criticise out of love for this country."
I see a future for South Africa and, therefore, like the members of the ANC and other parties, I also want the best for it. The most patriotic thing I can do for my fellow citizens is to write, and write again, and continue writing. Even when I am at my most critical, the point is that I am critical to help, somehow, right the wrongs that afflict us.
I am making this point because it is becoming harder to be an optimist in South Africa. Corruption is becoming endemic and it is destroying virtually everything that we stand for and hold dear.
It is becoming impossible not to, every so often, shake one's head and wonder if the cynics were right.
I am reminded of Minister in the Presidency Trevor Manuel's report a few weeks ago. It contains three haunting paragraphs. They read: "Political change brings no guarantee of social, economic or indeed political progress. Throughout history many civilisations, empires and countries have experienced dramatic decline rather than progress .
"The indicators most often associated with decline include rising corruption; weakening of state and civil society institutions; poor economic management; skills and capital flight; politics dominated by short-termism; ethnicity or factionalism; and lack of maintenance of infrastructure and standards of service.
"Elements of these indicators are already visible in South Africa, though their strength and prevalence is uneven and differs from sector to sector. If they become more prevalent, the country's progress could be stalled, its gains reversed and even the foundational aspects of democracy unravelled."
Corruption in South Africa has now reached unspeakable levels. It is spoken of as if it is part of the norm. For many of us, it is now part of doing business with the government. For many citizens, it is just part of what we have become.
I spoke to a group of women last week who casually agreed that they would buy their driver's licences. Why? They believe that driving inspectors will fail them just so they should pay bribes. These are intelligent individuals with degrees - and they have lost all faith in the system.
Can I blame them? Last week, Cosatu asked why President Jacob Zuma had not lifted a finger on acts or accusations of clear corruption in his administration. Cosatu cited several of these acts.
First, Co-operative Governance Minister Sicelo Shiceka allegedly used taxpayers' money to visit a girlfriend in jail in Switzerland. Months after the scandal, Zuma has done nothing.
Second, Northern Cape ANC chairman and finance MEC John Block is still in his office despite charges of corruption and fraud.
New allegations on the arms deal have come up. Zuma has not acted. Why not?
When a newspaper sent questions to Zuma's spokesman, Zizi Kodwa, he sent an SMS saying: "No comment."
There are so many instances of cronyism, downright corruption and bribery, the whole thing has become farcical.
The ANC as a party is not much help. Its investment arm, Chancellor House, is an example of high-level looting of state resources.
There is no leadership on the issue. The Zuma family is so mired in controversy, the president cannot move.
South Africa has brilliant sunshine even in the middle of winter. Increasingly, though, it seems that's all we've got. And that cannot build a country.

I share the same sentiment towards some of my own race as this African does towards his countrymen. There are few things on this planet which abhor me more than people with a sense of entitlement only whilst displaying no responsibility whatsoever. For all the good done by social benefits to those really in need, the evils created in allowing those whose only intent is abusing the system and living an entire life off “government” hand-outs greatly outweigh the good.
You will search far to find better examples of “white trash” than in countries like the United Kingdom. And I use this term sparsely, as I find it a disgrace to my race. People, totally able and capable of working, with no intent of ever doing so. Because they have tasted the life of never-ending provision paid for by the sweat of others.
A close second on my list are those that lack the will to think for themselves. In many cases you will find they are the same people covered in number 1 on the list, as it appears that living a life off continual supply by others has the very unfortunate effect that it also strips you of the will to think. Which probably explains why these people think it is government which “supplies”.
Apart from finding these people without apparent ability to think for themselves in the bowels of society, they seem to frequent the elite circles too. Think of the typical white liberal and it isn’t difficult to see they will never be prepared to live in the world they so insistently preach for others to accept as the norm. You find many of them with their grounding in some private school where their comprehension of other cultures are based solely on interaction with those from similar elitist backgrounds. And of course I am not referring to everybody here, but just as the majority of those “benefits for lifers” lack thinking caps, the elitists seem to lack reason and sense of reality.
The above explains why I don’t believe in unconditional aid to Africa either. Over and above the inefficient application due to corruption, is the overriding fact that you are applying the worst practices of the first world (the social benefit system) to the worst problems of the third. It could only ever work when people realise they have to do something themselves, which essentially entails that they have to work. Strangely enough, in some of the poorest of eastern and Asian countries, people know this is the only solution – to work, do something for yourself. Which means that you need to think first…
Albert Einstein who is acknowledged as one of the brainiest men that ever lived on the surface of the earth once said that the average human uses less than 10 per cent of the brain God has given to him.
Whether out of a sense of modesty or he was seriously speaking the truth, he said further that even he himself (who had such a high reputation for accomplishing much with his brain) did not use more than that 10 per cent. . If this assertion is correct and if other races use less than 10 per cent of their installed capacity for production, I can safely say that we Black people use less than one per cent of our installed brain capacity for reasoning, inventing and producing things.
Why do I say so? Our race seems so averse to thinking and this helps to explain why we have achieved so little in terms of socio-political organisation, scientific and technological inventions, economic and material development and in all other indices of human progress or development. Please do not accuse me of being harsh on ourselves. I say this out of patriotic anger and disappointment and there is truth in what I am saying.
I have said several times that this earth that God has made our habitation is a work-in-progress. God deliberately did not 'complete' creating a perfect world for us his children to just dwell in it without a care for anything but to tend it, subdue it and make it to suit our requirement because he did not intend us to be robots, but to be thinking and creative beings who will be his partners-in-progress.
That is why God did not build houses for us to just inherit and live in, once we are born; but He created limestone, clay, sand, water and granite for us to figure out how we can convert them to building materials and use them in making for ourselves habitable houses. God could have made us furniture but he instead made for us tress so that we can fashion out from them wood and turn them into the kind of furniture we desire.
With thinking or creative faculty bestowed upon us we are meant to put our brains to work. But we the Blacks are the least willing or the least able of all the races to put our brains to productive work.
Our refusal, so to say, to use our brains and think out solutions to the challenges confronting us is the number seven reasons why we are the way we are--poor, miserable and pitiable.
We Blacks everywhere are too willing to resign ourselves to any situation in which we find ourselves. The Black man can remain in a ghetto environment for centuries without thinking about how to improve his circumstances. Government will not care about him and he will not care about himself. Go to any African country: the same type of grass-thatched round mud house that our ancestors of pre-historic times lived in is the same type of houses many of our people are still living in today. This does not in any way show a people who regard life as a continuing battle to conquer and subdue the earth so we can live a better life than our forebears did. This shows a people who do not sit down and use their brain for their own good.
From the little reading I have done, I have discovered that every great civilisation that has ever been built was done so based on certain ideas: the wise elders of the people of that material time sat together and reasoned among themselves and decided that they needed to follow certain principles of life before they can grow and develop. It is said that ideas rule the world. They indeed do. Every country that is known as great is built on an idea or a set of ideas. Any discerning person who visits any country for the first time, will know what ideas, or if any ideas at all, informed the building of that country. You will know if a country is built to confer the greatest good on the greater number of the people or is meant for the elite or is a looters' haven.
Europeans who fled from religious persecution to the new world of what is today America decided that they will embrace what we call today Protestant Ethic namely frugality, liberty, hard work, discipline and the pursuit of happiness. Employing these principles they proceeded to build a country that has become an empire still bulling the rest of us in the world today.
About fifty years ago the tiny city-state island of Singapore was a dirt poor place, even more backward than some of the countries in present day Africa. One man, who can be called the island's philosopher-king according to the prescription of Plato, sat down, thought hard and decided that certain things needed to be done to take Singapore from a backward Third World nation to a successful First World country. That man is called Lee Kuan Yew.
He said the country must embrace a sort of capitalism driven by the state which is in turn governed by a tiny band of highly educated, patriotic, honest, absolutely corrupt-free, disciplined and visionary elite. Today, that country that is smaller both in size and population than Sokoto state is called a tiny titan; it punches far above its weight!
Where, I cry, are our own thinkers, planners and executors of the ideas we have for building great African societies? First of all, what are the ideas that we Africans have for building our countries? This is where everything starts: a good thought.
On what ideas is a country like Nigeria founded? From the way our country is run, it looks like this is anything- goes- place. It is a place without rule or order. Do anything you can and anything you please to grab as much as you can. If you like keep your loot here or better, hide it in safe havens abroad. Even if a country is founded to be a rouge haven, there must be guiding rules for roguery so that every rogue can enjoy his loot in relative peace. But no. Dare to call for some kind of conference, whether sovereign or non-sovereign so that our governing elite can sit down and decide what we need to do as a people, and many who are afraid that an inconvenient rule may be made to stop looting may be thought of to spoil their own chance, will not like to hear that. And so we are stuck.
And that is the fate of many African countries. We are afraid of even thinking about the way forward. What a tragedy!
What most people in South Africa remain oblivious to are the millions upon millions illegal immigrant Africans living in Europe. Go to any big European city and you'll see desperate Black Africans trying to sell items of fake goods, or whatever else that could possibly get them money to send back home. The Mediterranean Sea has THOUSANDS of Africans per week crossing over to seek better prospects in Europe. I predict that we're to see ALL South Africans following the same path, unless we start dealing with these issues pragmatically we have standing thanks to extremists like Malema.
Oddly enough Dutch speaking Belgium has the most amount of immigrants. Twenty-five percent of their population. Of which Africans make up a healthy majority in that same number. What do we call these people - invaders, settlers? It seems that in South Africa government officials take full right to blatant racism, something a European politician would be locked up in prison for saying.
I just truly wonder why the stories of what racist politicians are saying is not demonstrated to the world! I also wonder why it's not common knowledge how tens upon thousands of South Africans feel so threatened that they've placed refugee applications into foreign embassies, awaiting, begging and pleading to be allowed out of this racism mess that the ANC seem so beset on creating. What would be great is to see demonstrations like never see before to voice the cry of anguished people living under a Neo-Nazi threat, this time only reversed, here in Africa.
The question is more, what is causing Africa's failure? Where its population have to migrate out of sheer desperation to elsewhere in the world? And why have the immigrants the ANC so willingly let into South Africa (thinking that they'd vote them in) voted against the ANC, following them getting voting rights!
Because Africa as a whole has dealt with 50 years of banging its head against a brick wall. Same as in my Mum's Ireland where post-liberation Irish voted in extremism to have the Catholic Church rule the Irish state and to cut off their nose to spite their face. By refusing to do business there 500 year oppressive Colonisers, the Brits. While understandable, led to 70 YEARS OF HARDSHIP. Of Irish being forced to leave Ireland to move to Britain. Same story as Africa. And same story as to why African immigrants into South Africa vote against the new extremist ANC, who've forgotten the Freedom Charter.
I predict that the biggest threat to the ANC is progressive Socialism, as seen in Botswana and most of Europe and other successful world states. Of course the DA will CERTAINLY not give a damn to the biggest crisis answer - Progressive Socialism.
Because here's the sheer reality. We're heading for economic meltdown. What we need is an educated large middle class population with a huge buying power. Instead we're to have Extremist self-interested populists like Malema cause economic meltdown havoc. Because this country and well as most of Africa is too clueless to see the benefits of making sure every last criticise is given a fair chance to perform well to the benefit of the entire economy. I understand that Progressive Socialism is not understood in this "Bold and the Beautiful", "Young and the Restless" American media Capitalist educated population of ours.
But anyone with a tiny bit of sense will realise that Progressive Socialism as seen in Botswana and Europe will wipe out the racism out of this land. No, we're not talking Venezuela failed style of Socialism, but light touches of Socialism to equip all citizens to have buying power. And that Socialism by definition does not discriminate, and is our best chance towards a New South Africa, unlike the once White and now Black Nationalism rearing its ugly head under the helms of Malema and the rest of those Gucci cadres.
If you wish to see the end of all this South African strife and South Africa turning into another African casualty you'd realise that if every last member of our society was helped to become contributable members of society we'd see a new land, as successful and dynamic as every other well run country run under progressive socialism.
Botswana is one of the least corrupt nations ON EARTH! How's that for a shocker. Truly wish some dynamic political leader could seize the success stories of Progressive Socialism in action and make a society away from what we're heading to. Crime and criminals who get deceived into such lives due to their economic circumstances become our problem in this United States of Capitalist South Africa, where we're too short sighted to realise the damage of selfishness.
