Slightly off topic but we've featured Pat Condell a couple of times before. He definitely is extremely articulate and a vociferous defender of free speech. Pretty strong meat, so if you are of a religious bent, skip it...

In this commentary Pat Condell was no better than the people that he criticized, confusing religion with people that practice it. Religion could be ridiculed, insulted and defiled without being diminished in any way. People can't. People are brittle and fragile....etc. Everything he said was rubbish up to the point at the end, where he asked that we don't treat religion's 'claims to reality' as law.
P.S. I'd like to see him get through life without any faith. Tsk. Another Futilitarian in the making.
@FE. Quite the contrary, I agreed with everything Pat had to say. I don't see how you justify seperating religion from those that practise it. They are one and the same. Religion is a product of the people, not some omnipotent deity.
VI, religion is something that is practiced by people. One can't 'practice' a person or people.
How about criminalising people who practice any form of religion? Send the buggers to jail. But what if your "god" is materialism. Should you go to jail for that too?
He as an atheist is himself a religious nut.
