Rand Declines Most in Two Weeks After Touching 2 1/2-Month High

The World Cup should see a rise in the value of the Rand - a good time to sell what you have an buy US Dollars or even Euros, which would make good financial sense.



Jan. 6 (Bloomberg) -- South Africa’s rand fell the most in two weeks against the dollar as traders took advantage of the unit’s strength and bought foreign currency.

The currency declined as much as 0.8 percent, the most since Dec. 21, to 7.3737 per dollar and was trading at 7.3414 by 10.33 a.m. in Johannesburg from a close yesterday of 7.3135. Yesterday, it strengthened as much as 0.5 percent to 7.2495, its strongest level since Oct. 16.
