Thembuland. I like the sound of it.

Hie, hie, hie.....some more on this.....

Tribalism is alive and well in South Africa.

Black people don’t even like each other. How can we expect them to like whites?

Let us wait for January 6, and see where this leads to.

It might be fun!

Thembu king to duck jail with ‘independence’

2009/12/23
Ben Maclennan

Cape Town – The king of the abaThembu – facing a 15-year jail sentence for a string of violent crimes – has hit on a novel solution to his legal woes: He plans to form an independent state.

The announcement was made yesterday by his representative, lawyer Votani Majola. It followed an earlier ultimatum that President Jacob Zuma publicly apologise to the abaThembu tribe for the “humiliation” of the king, Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo, in court. It had also demanded that all charges against the king be scrapped and that the government pay R80-billion in compensation.

Dalindyebo was sentenced to jail by a Mthatha judge earlier this month for offences including culpable homicide, kidnapping, arson and assault with intent to commit grievous bodily harm. He is on bail pending appeal.

Majola said the abaThembu would “withdraw from the South African government” on January 6 to form an independent state. He said the state of Thembuland would include at least KwaZulu Natal, the Eastern, Western and Northern Cape, and parts of the Free State and Gauteng. – Sapa

I bet you the charges are dropped and the 'king' gets a few million bucks to shut up and play nice (or he risks facing the loud end of a few 'war veteran' / 'casual criminal' AK47's.)

Today it seems that 1 is a single individual, 2 is a couple and 3 is a 'nation'.

Interesting post. Reminds me of the following, where the Obama govamunt want to give native Hawian´s their own homeland.
If this happens, surely the Boer nation will have a claim to a separate state within SA according to international law?

It´s the new African "curruncie", "Billion". The haven´t a clue how many that is as they run out of fingers and toes at 20, but it´s got a nice ring to it. Old Bob got some nice paper printed with that "billion" stuff on it, and the baboon who represented Africa in Copenhagen said he wanted x number of "billions", so if it´s good enough for them, it must be good enough for, "Lo King".
Really, you can´t make this stuff up. LOL.

As idiotic as Idi Amin's King of Scotland claim.

I much prefer the name thembuland to South Africa! After the dreadful legacy of apartheid and the utter humiliation of Blacks and "coloured"alike, things have only changed on the surface. The poor are millions and the overwhelming majority of them...Blacks.The more things change the more they stay the same..I have still encountered racism towards Blacks and Coloured in this county, years after the"death of apartheid"especially in areas where there is a strong majority of" traditional Afrikaners ".So,we ditch apartheid, but unfortunately it remains in many hearts. Why not rename the land with it's original name Thembuland?
