The Little Ice Age

A little known fact is that Europe recently underwent an Ice Age, known as the Little Ice Age, about the period between about 1300 and 1850 AD. Eastern Europe experienced a general cooling of the climate between the years 1150 and 1460 and a very cold climate between 1560 and 1850. The effects of this cooling period wrought huge devastation.

The colder weather impacted agriculture, health, economics, social strife, emigration, and even art and literature. Increased glaciation and storms also had a devastating affect on those that lived near glaciers and the sea. This foretells a sampling of what will happen when the new Ice Age hits, expected to be anything but little.

You do not need to believe much less understand the science behind it all but the fact remains that the conditions that pre-empted that period of cooling is the same as that of today whether it is man-made or not. Keep an open mind and try to make your own informed opinion on the climate change issue. What is certain is that earth is about to enter a very uncertain period and one wonders if this signifies the beginning of the Sixth Mass Extinction where we, like many millions of creatures before us will be casualties.
