UN Development Programme Index 2009 report released today

An ILSA reader and co-expat in Australia sent me this year's United Nations Human Development Report (measures quality of life) for 2009 which records the Human Development Index for 2007. Once again, Norway came out narrowly on top with our new home Australia ensconced in second spot out of 182 countries. Canada is 4th and the United States dropped one place to 13th spot.

Unsurprisingly, South Africa slipped to a dismal 129th place,
behind Namibia. Zimbabwe didn't even make the list referred to as "other UN member state". I guess quality of life matters not a dot to Zimbabweans since the land has been returned to its 'rightful' heirs. However, given the option of living life in Zimbabwe 1999 and Zimbabwe 2009, I would wager that 90% of Zimbabweans would pick the former.

The highest placed 'black' country is Barbados coming in at a respectable 37th spot and the highest placed African country is Libya at #55.

Here is the link for the summary report (the list of countries is on page 14; or if you're looking at the full report it's on page 167).

F-U-U-U-U-U-C-K ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Is there nothing, no measure, no survey, no outcry, nothing, that will wake this shitskin gubbermunt up to the fact that they have single-handedly destroyed a great nation?

Oh - Sorry. Silly me. It's about power and feeding off the whitemans gravy, not about governance. Forgive me. How could I have been so dense?

Uh huh, behind Turkmenistan even..it would be funny if it weren't so serious. Look at the countries above us, some read like the who's who of f*ckups and we slot in behind them.
