There's been some discussion lately of how little life is worth in SA, as evidenced daily in the futile waste of life that accompanies crime in this country.
Here's yet another example of the callousness of some people towards an innocent life. The question I want to ask is: What's wrong with a hospital, police station or church??
Body of newborn baby found with umblical cord
The body of a new born baby was found in a bin in the Pietermaritzburg CBD, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Tuesday.
"Police received a report of a body of a new born baby lying in a bin opposite the High Court on Church Street, in the Pietermaritzburg CBD, said Inspector Joey Jeevan.
Jeeven said the body was placed in a white plastic bag and the umbilical cord was still intact. The body was discovered by a street child on Monday night who contacted the police.
Jeevan said it was not known why the body was dumped and it had no bruises.
Police were appealing to anyone with information regarding the incident or the whereabouts of the biological mother, said Jeevan.
