American Missionary Tortured and Raped in Durban

No doubt there are people out there who will say "I told you so" to this woman, who came to Africa on some guilt-assuaging, misguided effort at helping people who don't want to be helped.

But I take no finger-wagging glee at this incident, because the point is:
nobody told her so.

She was no doubt told that Africans are a friendly bunch, that South Africa is safe as houses. One of the reason liberal do-gooders come here is that it IS safer than other African countries like Sierra Leone and both of the Congoes. Which is a bit like saying you'll be less dead jumping from the 9th floor rather than the 12th.

She was probably also told, in a mixture of poor Theology and wishful thinking, that Jesus would look after her anyway.

As a result of widespread lies, another poor woman undergoes traditional South African hospitality.

This should remind us all why
ILSA exists.

Two held over rape of US woman

PAUL KIRK

JOHANNESBURG - Police have arrested two suspects for the gang-rape, robbery and torture of a 26-year-old American missionary who was in South Africa on a church sponsored mission to build homes for the poor.

The woman, who is presently in hospital receiving medical treatment for multiple injuries was attacked late on Tuesday evening by three men who smashed through the door of the Ballito home where she was staying.

After overpowering her, the three first sexually assaulted, then beat and gang-raped her before fleeing in a Honda motor car belonging to her church group.

Police from the office of the KwaZulu-Natal provincial commissioner, the Local Criminal Record Centre in Durban and the Umhlali Dog Unit raced to the scene and found the woman’s car abandoned.

Fingerprint experts processed the car as well as the house where the attack took place and identified the fingerprints of one of the attackers.

At the home they found the fingerprints of a man who has a previous conviction for robbery and was, until yesterday afternoon, out on bail for housebreaking. Police from the Dog Unit then proceeded to the known hideouts used by the man and arrested him and another man known to often be his accomplice.

The pair were allegedly in possession of property taken from the woman’s home.

Police are confident the third suspect would be arrested soon.

Well, if no one told her so, then she obviouly didn't do her homework before going to SA. All she had to do was google SA and then think twice before leaving her country. In any case, what happened to her is disgusting. This is what happens to SA women (black and white) on a daily basis - except, many also get killed. How can anyone think that this is ever going to get better in the future? SA has bred a whole new generation of criminals and it's going to be near impossible to rehabilitate them at the best of times, let alone with a nincompoop government at the helm.

Indeed Viking it should remind everyone why we work so hard at ILSA to warn people. Still, if it's only die-hard leftist black-hugging liberals being snuffed, hey, sshhhh...

Come on over liberals to South Africa! The native blacks are real friendly and love you whiteys. Honest. Cross my heart.

If it's OK for Zuma to do it, it's ok for every hot blooded black man. At least, that's the perception among black men ... nudge nudge wink wink. They're all such a bunch of big swinging dicks.

If she went to build homes for the poor in Mozambique or Zim, they might all head back there, but no, we know why the so called international NGO's want more Negroes in SA!

@Dobes
heh heh...

You know there's such a hypocrisy here as well. The only reason these people come to the richest country in Africa is because they think it's safer. And of course the only reason it's safer is because of all the whiteys here - BUT liberals also hate the evil whiteys in SA, and so want to show how keen they are to help the blacks while the whites don't want to help them- in their view, (although paying massive taxes and providing employment don't count, because they're things that Conservatives like, not liberals.) so are happy to bask in first world comforts in SA while sneering at the people who provided them. Mad..

Well said Viking. Cape Town visitors are particularly bad in that respect. Cape Town is in any case so far removed from Africa as it is from Tumbuktoo! That's why I also like it so much.

Wanna bet this kid's parents are going to take the Stockholm Syndrome route with prayers and forgiveness and education bursaries all round?

They don't learn because they would rather be on a totally spurious moral high ground than face the reality of what's going on in their own neighbourhood, right there in the US of A.

@Dachs
you know what? you're 100% right. I bet her parents are on a plane right now en route to Durban to hug the rapists and "forgive" them.

I personally would rather forgive them long after they've been castrated, force-fed their own offending offensive appendages and then hanged. But that's just me.

@FishEagle
well it's turning into Africa now! I was looking at a coffee table book of photos this morning, of Cape Town taken in 1993 and I hardly recognise it. There's hardly any traffic on daytime streets, NO taxis, NO crappy market stalls, NO people just 'hanging around'. In fact hardly any crowds at all. Greenmarket square shows stuff for sale that's not complete tat made in China. Everything is clean! what a paradise.

I'm almost glad I wasn't here back then - I would shed a tear or two now for sure.

Sad to say it, but these bleeding heart liberals are no loss to the white cause, so I have no sympathy with them.

Anon, you may be stuck there in Arzania, but so are we in our respective countries. The only diff is our white K4's are not so destructive and bloodthirsty.

So, hou moed boet!

I work in tourism and on a weekly basis meet these wanna be good doers. Even by warning them about the possible dangers they might experience they still donner ahead and do stupid things. They think and say but we are not South African so we safe. From 1000m away white is white and black is black the criminals dont ask are you SA or visitor. Closer than 500m you can normally hear the accent and they still dont know when to switch the sound button a bit down A mobile target attack me I'm foreign.

Anon,"...say but we are not South African so we safe.."

As if Saffas deserve the onslaught. Don't you just wish you could quietly send all your clients out there armed with no information what so ever? Let them experience it for themselves.

FishEagle said...

P.S. You would always be covered because if anything bad happened to them and they complained, you could just accuse them of racism. Lol

@Anon 6:55 pm

I sympathise with your plight - damned if you do and damned if you don't!
The truth is, foreigners don't listen to your warnings because they think you're being racist.
