We've been discussing black-white race issues of late and the double standard that applies to whites and blacks. Imagine a white male had stood on a stage before an audience during the White Entertainment Awards ceremony being nationally televised and said the following words about Elvis Presley:
"...no need to be sad, we want to celebrate this white man's.. (pause for cheers)..this WHITE MAN (voice gets louder to emphasise point).. he belongs to us..and we shared him with everybody else.."

Heh heh, nope, relax folks, these racist words were uttered by a black man before a mainly black audience in a blacks-only event - so it's not racist. Y'see, what's mine is mine and what's yours is mine too. Now where are the rabid anti-racists....? BC, Al Sharpton, anyone?

Strictly, according to the definitions, his remarks are not racist. The problem is that whites cannot say what he said, because the definition applying to whites, well, is set at a higher level.

@VI... The standards that apply to whites are higher because unlike the mud-races we are able to achieve that standard. It would be nice if the thought that all men were equal was equally extended, but it would seem that in certain issues some men are more equal than others. Don't you think it a little absurd that the same people who cry out for equality etc. are the same people who apply the double standard with regard to "race-pride". And that without losing a moments sleep. I would think the dissonance created in their minds would keep them awake.

@ anon 4:33, I share your anger. Here's what we must do. Stop, walk backwards a long way and meet blacks where they currently reside in the race debate (mentality circa 1800s) - and only then let's march forward together in step towards this fictional non-racial utopia that only exists in the mind of white liberals.
