The Lion Sleeps Tonight

It's a cold bleak day over on this side of the pond and for some reason this song popped into my head. It was adopted by the yanks as one of their own, used in many films and TV shows but few know that the song was actually written by a South African, Solomon Linda in 1939, the actual title being "Mbube" (Zulu for "lion"). Being the yanks, they've also somehow corrupted the title to "wimoweh". This video features a hippo and a dog. You'll jes love the dog!
