In July 2008, we posted about an old white man, James Frederick Brown, 69, suffering from Alzheimer's disease, Black mob beats up white Alzheimer patient for 'shoplifting' who died from injuries sustained in multiple beatings.
Mr Brown had inadvertently taken a $1 chocolate bar without paying for it. What happened next cost the old man his life.
First the black Shoprite staff set upon him like a pack of wild baboons screaming "kill him, kill him!" beating the old man. The police were called, he was apparently also pepper-sprayed then taken at gunpoint to the Kriel police cells. He was not handcuffed which means he did not resist arrest so it begs the question, why the need to pepper spray a frail old man?
Despite pleas from his family, the police refused all access to the old man, alleging the old man was so irrational (he had Alzheimer's you fucking baboons!) that they had to 'keep a gun trained on him'. The old man received no assistance, no medical care, no legal aid, not even a lousy phone call. He remained in the dank police cell for 4 hours. Remember, this all stems from the so-called heinous offence of stealing a $1 chocolate bar!
And here's where the lies and deception begins. The police claimed he was handed over to them in the state you see below. If that was the case, why wasn't the old man's injuries treated immediately? When his family was finally allowed to see him, they were horrified to find the old man lying on his back on the floor of the dark cell, in a large puddle of blood. The police on the scene claimed he'd probably 'fallen in the cell and hit his head'. To cut a long story short, the old man died in that police cell and the newspaper report said that an inquest would follow to determine the factors surrounding his death.
On 9 June 2009, e-TV's 3rd Degree picked up on the story of Mr Brown (better late than never...a year?!!). Among the issues discussed concerned the police claim that his injuries stemmed from the beatings at Shoprite when CCTV footage showed there were no wounds to his head when he was taken into custody. So what happened at the police station?
Let's stop with the bullshit, it's simple what's going on here. He was white and they were black and this was race hatred. Had the situation been reversed, the outrage would have reverberated around the world but per usual the media ignored this story. Move along, no racist crime here, the victim was white. Fuck you CNN, BBC, Sky and especially all the lousy lame-assed journo shitheads in South Africa! It's a pity the old man did not pretend to piss on the chocolate bar and feed it to a black worker. Now that would have made a story and he probably would still be alive.

He was hit repeatedly over the head with something sharp or with a sharp edge. You can't fall like that three times. No forensic examination of course.

DISGUSTING, INEXCUSABLE - big brave policemen beating up on a defenceless old man !! Once again 'revese racism' is accepted - incidents like this promote racism and as a nation we are going backwards. The unity we felt after the rugby world cup, etc is wiped out by such horror stories of this precious old man. One can only begin to imagine how his family are coping with this heinous act perpetrated by the very people who should protect us. Rapists receive better treatment. Boycott Checkers Kriel and for heavens sake CHARGE THE BARBARIANS RESPONSIBLE for this atrocity. No whitewashing, lame brained excuses please !!!!
I had the same reaction Alicia. It is disgusting. And the lame media did nothing. A defenceless old man beaten up by blacks staffers then black police and we hear hardly a murmur from the press.
Contrast that with the coverage when any white transgresses, as rare as it may be. This old man looks so frail, he looks like he couldn't defend himself against a fly. Yet they killed him like a dog. This is South Africa today and we must all wake up and say enough!!
Hatred is not going to solve or stop this or any other heinous crime.

And don't tell me I don't know what I'm talking about about - I lost my mom to Alzheimer's less than two years ago. I'm writing an article on the disease. This site came up as part of my research. What a horrible bunch of people you are. I am almost more sickened by the comments here as I was when I first heard about the old gentleman's death.

As for this story, since you speak of Googling, see how many results you get for this man's murder and equate the number for the four students pretending to pee in food. THAT'S THE PROBLEM!

@Journo, I have not had any experience with Alzheimer disease and it is very sad to hear that you lost your mother to it. Nobody is refuting your knowledge about the disease. This post is about the fact that a person lost a life due to the horrific behavior of our police. Mr. Brown could have still been alive today had the police not acted in such a despicable way, despite the fact that he would still have Alzheimer’s disease. People that are ill need more protection than others. Surely that is something worth standing up for. Surely that is what your mother deserved when she was still alive. She could have been the unlucky victim that took the bar of chocolate. You can refute the whole race issue as much as you like but at the end of the day that is where it all begins and ends when it comes to being a South African. Whites have been bullied so much that they are not even willing to stand up for their own people anymore, even when it is a poor, defenseless old man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. That just shows how bad things really are.
