Sowetan: A worthless rag

Contrast the length of articles and the time the Sowetan expends on various topics. A simple search on their website with the following search terms produced these results: farm murders: 2 results, racism: 119 results (all dealing with white racism of course) combined with extensive commentary from columnists all pushing the angle that racism still exists (only the white kind) and that the government has not gone far enough to rid the country of racism. Nothing is mentioned about black racism but then that's not the purpose of the modern mainstream media is it? The modern msm is about pushing their own agenda, not about reporting facts.

Another search for "farmer murders" brought up 40 results with the first two reading: “My only interest is to show that most of the farm killings result from the abuse labourers ..." and "Racist farmer on the run". You get my drift. For the Sowetan, farmers are white ergo are racist and racist white farmers therefore kinda deserve to be murdered.

But would you expect anything else. Looking at the Sowetan's Top Story for today "MNet counts the cost of Idols fiasco " it tells you plenty about the paper (393 words AND a pic no less - wow). A worthless rag as they say. I even venture to guess that it took extreme willpower for the journo Mdletshe to put down his KFC long enough to type up this story at all, all 47 words' worth.


KZN farmer shot dead

Police in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands are looking for the killers of a 57- year-old farmer.

Alan Rowe of Bloemendal farm in Rietvlei near Greytown was shot dead on Wednesday.

Senior Superintendent Henry Budhram said Rowe was shot twice in the upper body. – Canaan Mdletshe (The Sowetan)
