Good news for expat Saffas

Pretty please you expats - USE this right!!

South Africa's highest court ruled on Thursday that citizens living abroad should be allowed to vote in the country's general election next month, a Constitutional Court judge said.

The Constitutional Court said citizens living abroad, and registered to vote, had the right to vote in the April 22 election.

The poll is expected to be the most closely-contested since apartheid ended in 1994. - Reuters

Great news indeed. You can count on 30+ people in my circle of friends that will be voting. I WILL ENSURE IT HAPPENS. This is for the people back home having to live in the shit that is the new SA people! We wanted this, we've got it, now DO IT!

AND MAKE SURE YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS VOTE AS WELL!!!

We'll keep you guys informed on how to go about doing this whole registration/ voting process.

Is it open to all South Africans registered and beeing abroad, or just as in the above post for those that are visiting, not living abroad?

Will those votes then not be counted out then, when they see that these individuals have been living abroad for a long time?

Or are you counting on that they won´t be able to find out, or sort through it all? I mean, I understand you trying, because that can then presumable be used for further gains in the rights of Expats to vote. But are you optimistic that the votes will be cast?

One other question, how about South Africans in countries that don´t have a South African Embassy? Is it enough to go to the Consul?

Best wishes,

Leifur

We should understand that this is how things are as of now! Who knows what tomorrow may bring, the ANC does not want exSaffers to vote - it is as simple as that. My money is on another goal post shift manouvre. At the end of the day we can only hope!! Because there is f*ck all left besides hope.

Hey Doberman, don't forget to tell them that the Freedom Front is the ONLY party interested in securing freedom for white africans.

The DA are only interested in earning more for the Western Bankers who they serve!

Hear Hear to the Freedom Front! Bloody DA did nothing.

Leifur, this is open to EVERY Saffa living abroad that registered for any of the previous elections. That's the only catch. Next time, expat Saffas will be given an opportunity to register to vote.

If you are registered to vote, you simply need to apply for a Special Vote which you have 15 days, sorry... 14 days to do. C'mon people, time's a wastin'.

I have to vote in Canberra and that means flying the distance of 1300km to vote but by golly, I will be there.
