The amazing Vavi

Amazingly, Zwelinzima Vavi was involved this week in briefing the media “on the Gaza crisis and Barack Obama’s responsibilities” (The Citizen, January 21).

While this earth-shattering event was probably missed by Obama as well as the major international news networks, due to Obama’s inauguration, I am sure a tape or transcript will be sent to them.

Of course, there have not, as yet, been any briefings by Vavi on the challenges presented by Zimbabwe, crime, corruption or the arms deal fiasco.

Lest I forget, my 4-year-old nephew will be briefing the family this weekend on the South African Reserve Bank’s monetary policies.
