Motorist beaten by cop

There are good cops and then there are these cretins. Naturally, the cop will receive a warning and be back at work in no time. He knows it and that's why he behaves like this. There are no consequences for actions in South Africa. It's the law of the jungle. That's why this stuff happens.

In Australia, you may not lay a finger on anyone without it being deemed an assault. Even threatening words will land you in trouble. And then the full might of the law is brought upon you, regardless of who you [think] you are. It doesn't stop people trying their luck but you do tend to think very carefully about what you say and do. That's zero tolerance and it works.

As for that other incident where the VIP policeman shot out the tyre of a motorist, read how his boss justifies the man's actions. Yep. It's your fault because you are being rude when you do not move out the way, people. Just you remember that.

Johannesburg – A 27-year-old policeman will appear in the Pretoria magistrate‘s court today after allegedly assaulting a motorist on Friday.

Rapport reported yesterday that auditor Henk Griesel, 47, who was taken to hospital, had three teeth knocked out when the policeman beat him with a piece of metal.

The policeman apparently tried to overtake Griesel, but ended up bumping his car.

A police spokesman said the off-duty railway unit member, released on warning after a night in the cells, “bumped the man‘s car off the road”.

“He then (opened) the door of his victim‘s car, pulled him out and attacked him with his fists.”

In a similar recent case, a VIP unit member shot at a car‘s tyre and faces eight counts of attempted murder from the resultant collision.

His charge, KwaZulu Natal social welfare MEC Meshack Radebe, told The Sunday Independent that “rude behaviour” by motorists was also to blame. “If a driver behaves like that, how do (our drivers) know we are not being ambushed? Their reaction is to just push aside and shoot.”

RACIST ATTACK?

He of difficult days said...

Why do you feel the need to point out that their are "good cops"

No offense, but you come across as someone who starts of by saying "I am not a racist, but..." when criticizing blacks.

You should not have to do that.

If you want to criticize cops, go ahead and do it without having to suck up to the 1 good cop left.

What if said...

....and when you see a black standing or walking or driving in/on the side of or on the road, how do you know that you are not being ambushed?...
