KFC anyone?

The ANC is caught with their fat, KFC-greased fingers in the public purse AGAIN. This is what Election 2009 is about - the removal of the ANC - or continue to see the country denigrate even further with these corrupt muddas controlling your money. If this won't spur you on to register and vote against the ANC then nothing will.

DA slams Gauteng govt donation to ANC front.

Mashatile's Department gives half a million to ANC organization.

The Gauteng Auditor General has drawn attention to the improper allocation of more than R500 000 to the ANC's Progressive Women's Movement by the Gauteng Department of Economic Affairs. The AG's objection is that procedure was not followed because any amount above R100 000 should be a separate line item in the budget.

This contravention of the rules seems to have been a clear attempt to hide the donation of more than half a million Rand to an ANC organization.

This money has been used to fund ANC party activities rather than for the public good.

The Progressive Women's Movement was set up in 2006 after a resolution by the ANC Women's League National Executive Committee. It purports to be an umbrella body but limits membership to "progressive" organizations and those of the "disciplined left".

The DA believes the ANC should pay back the R500 000, which the Auditor-General says was spent on accommodation. The DA would also like to know details of the process by which this grant was approved. It seems officials have abused their authority for political purposes. Political responsibility for this misuse of money lies directly at the door of the then MEC and now Premier, Paul Mashatile.
