Six shot repeatedly in house robbery

Two people were shot dead and four others wounded when gunmen stormed into their Umlazi, Durban home and opened fire, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

The attackers made off with some cash and a cellphone, said police spokesperson Captain Khephu Ndlovu.

The six occupants of the V Section house were relaxing when they were attacked around 8pm on Wednesday.

Mpho Sibiya, 23, and Thembinkosi Nsindani, 28, sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were declared dead at the scene.

The four others - two women and two men - were shot repeatedly and are in a serious condition in hospital. One of the women was shot in both legs, while three others were shot in their heads.

"The motive for the incident is house robbery at this stage," Ndlovu said.
