These pictures were taken by an East London-based private investigator showing a heavily overloaded OR Tambo district council bakkie on the N2, clearly not being utilised for council work.
The investigator describes: “These are the pics we took last night (Tuesday 28 October 2008) of an OR Tambo District Municipality vehicle obviously not being used without the municipality’s consent to deliver private stuff (wood).
It was loaded in an extremely dangerous way and travelling from Mthatha towards Dutywa in the thick mist and rain and driving at an extremely slow speed.
It was an accident in the making.”
Unfortunately the investigator was unable to get the car’s registration number.
