Man spraypaints fellow workers

This Du Plooy bloke is a doos. Shit like this, the days of doing this stuff - is over. I am beginning to think the IQ level in the country has taken a serious dip.

Two workers employed at a car refurbishment company told how they had been suffering under their supervisor, who yesterday spray-painted their faces.

Ntokozo Mpanzi and Sibusiso Mathebula work for Judges Refurbishments (JR) in Selby, Johannesburg.

The two went to report their employers at the Department of Labour after their supervisor, Petrus du Plooy, spray-painted their faces with silver car paint, for the second time. They said du Plooy harasses them all the time calling them kaffirs, and that the rest of the workers were afraid to complain.

“On Monday he told me he was going to show me what a kaffir is and dragged me to the toilet and put my head into the toilet bowl,” Mathebula said.

Mathebula said that last week Du Plooy punched him on the nose resulting in him bleeding.

They also complained about the long working hours and being forced to work seven days a week without rest or overtime payment. “We have been suffering under this guy. We have had enough and could not keep quite anymore. We had to report his actions to the authorities,” Mpanzi said.

The two also laid charges against Du Plooy at the Johannesburg central police station. When questioned about his actions, du Plooy said: “I did it because they are not careful and do not concentrate when working on clients’ cars.”

Police said they would issue him with a date to appear in court . JR owner Gerald Fitzpatrick said : “I can tell you that these guys are exaggerating. Is it a crime to help them move forward in life?” asked Fitzpatrick.

However, he said that what Du Plooy did was wrong . Labour official Alvin Phillips said his department had opened an investigation into the matter.
