The Lekota train gathers steam. Methinks the Zuma faction have underestimated their opposition.

Mosiuoa Lekota has told a rally of 3000 disgruntled ANC members in the Western Cape that he is the victim of campaign of violent intimidation.
Lekota’s bodyguard was kidnapped and apparently told that he would die for the new party Lekota is planning.
There is no independent verification of this threat, but it is a little worrying.
“They are trying to send a message to me to say that if you do not do as we say we will deal with you. If they think that they can intimidate people from the desire for freedom, then they are mistaken,” he told the rally according to the wire service Sapa.
He went a little further and warned of “Vlakplaas” style operations against dissidents. Vlakplaas was the headquarters of the apartheid government’s death squads.
Lekota told the meeting that similar rallies were underway in other provinces as he shores up dissident support ahead of a planned “national convention” to discuss how to restore the ANC’s moral backbone.
