Horror muti killing of 9 year old boy

What sick perverted cultural beliefs make people do this? Humans are supposedly superior to animals but animals don't behave like this. It is the 21st century for f**k's sakes! We have to question beliefs like this and put a stop to it. Slaughtering a goat or a cow to mark an occasion while peecee to 'live and let live' is bullshit. It is barbaric and we must say so.

Slavery was acceptable at one time. So was cannibalism but that didn't make it right. We enlightened ourselves and grew out of our caveman savagery. We need to tell these people, these inferior cultures that their beliefs and conduct is unacceptable. It's not racism. It's being truthful.

FYI, for foreigners, muti is a Zulu term for black traditional medicine. In southern Africa, muti is sometimes associated with murder and mutilation in order to excise body parts for incorporation as ingredients into medicine and concoctions used in witchcraft.

Often children and the elderly are the victims, both male and female.

An individual or group of individuals commissions a traditional healer or inyanga to assist them by concocting muti. The victim is usually identified and 'purchased' via a transaction involving an often nominal amount of money.

The victim is then abducted, often at night, and taken to an isolated place, often in the open countryside if the murder is being committed in a rural area.

It is usually intended that the victim be mutilated while conscious, so that the medicine can be made more potent through the noises of the victim in agony. Mutilation does not take place in order to kill the victim, but it is expected that the victim will die of the wounds.

Police are hunting for a man who butchered a child in Butterworth on Sunday afternoon in a savage attack in which he sliced out the boy’s vital organs.

The brutal murder has stunned the village where little nine-year-old Vika Nqwiliso lived and his three friends who watched him die are receiving counselling.

Two of them were first raped by the suspect in front of Nqwiliso. The third boy was then given orders to remove Nqwiliso’s intestines with his bare hands after the suspect had ripped his stomach open with a knife.

All three were ordered afterwards to cast the mutilated body into a river.

Villagers recovered the body yesterday and Nqwiliso’s uncle Nkosana said his nephew was butchered like an animal.

“He killed him like a sheep. Vika was butchered and thrown into a river,” he said.

“He was a sweet boy. He loved people and his friends. We loved him.”

The suspect, described as a man with a light complexion who had a tattoo with the number 28 and a picture of a gun on one of his forearm’s, took with him Nqwiliso’s body parts.

He removed the child’s heart, liver, penis, a finger and an eye. The boy’s throat was slit.

Police spokesperson Jackson Manatha said the other three children had managed to provide a description of the man.
