Couple shot, another robbed

Two men allegedly shot and wounded a couple in their 20's in a driveway in Soshanguve in Pretoria, police said on Thursday.

"The man had visited his girlfriend and they were seated in their maroon Renault Clio when two armed men approached them at 8.35pm on Wednesday, said spokesperson Captain Solly Marindi.

"One of the men opened the driver's door and shot him on his upper body. The lady tried to run off but she was shot in the leg," said Marindi.

Marindi said the men ran away when neighbours went out to investigate.

The couple was taken to a nearby hospital.

In another incident at Sunset Beach in Milnerton in the Western Cape, a couple who had just come back home were robbed on Wednesday.

"Four armed men, driving an Audi parked near a couple's house just as they were returning home at 8.20pm," Inspector Daphne Dell said.

The men approached the couple, who were seated in their silver BMW in the driveway and threatened them to get out and unlock the door to the house.

Dell said the men went in and took a plasma television and fled in the couple's BMW with registration number CA310753, leaving their Audi at the scene.

"Police were called and they pursued the men who started shooting. However, no one was injured and no arrests were made."

It was discovered that the Audi was reported hijacked earlier this month in Kirstenhof.
