Foreign countries place more value in their historical ties to South Africa than the ANC which wants to re-write history by dismissing the country's heritage.
Good or bad, the past transpired and must be preserved. That's how we learn not to repeat some of the mistakes of the past. You don't rename Auschwitz just because it was the scene of horrific events, you preserve it for future generations. The FF+ must be commended for standing up for the rights of minorities - and the DA is demonstrating what limp-wristed liberal pussies they are.

Two councillors of the FF Plus, Conrad Beyers and Cornelius Jansen van Rensburg, was chased out of a council meeting by the Speaker of the Tshwane Metro Council after they had seriously objected to the changing of 27 historical street names in Pretoria.
On the photo Kruger Street in Amsterdam the Netherlands can be seen with a Transvaal pharmacy below it. Thousands of kilometres from South Africa, Afrikaner history is acknowledged in the Netherlands while the ANC believes that they are "building good relationships" by planning to eradicate it in Pretoria.
In a quite central part of Amsterdam in the Netherlands is the Transvaal neighbourhood where there are today still numerous street names which honour Afrikaners and their history, such as can be seen above.
This includes street names such as Pretorius, De la Reij, Christiaan de Wet (see photo), President Steyn, Danie Theron, Kruger, Piet Retief, Paardekraal and Majuba. In stead of the ANC making room for everyone's heroes and history, they polarise society by changing street names which were named after Afrikaner heroes to that of ANC heroes.
The Freedom Front Plus said the chasing out of two of the FF Plus' councillors from the council meeting indicate the intolerance of the ANC as soon as opposition to their abuses are raised.
Some of the street names which according to the ANC's proposal have to change are:
· Paul Kruger Street: Named after the former president of the Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek.
· Church Street: the longest and most well known street in Pretoria – also known as the main street.
· Pretorius Street: Named after Marthinus Wessel Pretorius, son of Andries Pretorius and president of the Transvaal Republic.
· Walker Street: Arthur Hamilton Walker was a land surveyor. He did a new survey of the town of Pretoria which Andries du Toit had originally laid out.
· Voortrekker Way: Named after the Voortrekkers, who had trekked from the Cape Colony to the interior of South Africa.
· Queen Wilhelmina Avenue: Named after Queen Wilhelmina Helena Pauline Marie of the Netherlands since 1890 to 1948. She also, at the age of 20 challenged the mighty British Colonial Power by sending a warship from the Netherlands to South Africa to help President Paul Kruger to escape from the British forces and to garner support in Europe for the Boers in their Liberation War against the British.
FF Plus councillors, Conrad Beyers and Cornelius Jansen van Rensburg, were instructed by the ANC Speaker, Mr. Korombi Dau, to leave the council meeting because they had said in their speeches that the ANC is still acting like a terrorist organisation by attempting to sabotage street names of historical value in Pretoria and changing them into so-called “struggle heroes”.
The FF Plus also voiced its disappointment with the Democratic Alliance (DA) who asked that disciplinary action is taken against the FF Plus councillors about the comments they had made.
Beyers said in his speech that some people’s heroes are thugs for other people and vice versa and that all groups in this country should respect each other’s history. The meeting fell into chaos when he said that many people who are regarded by the ANC to be heroes, are seen as “murderers and terrorists” by others.
Jansen van Rensburg said that the ANC is acting as “terrorists in government” by insulting and eradicating minorities’ history. “The USA is lucky – their terrorists are far away in the Middle East. Ours are sitting in the midst of government”, he said.
According to Cnlr. Cornelius Jansen van Rensburg, it often happens that the ANC and PAC refer to the white population of South Africa as "colonialists, settlers and racists", but they are never reprimanded or chased out of council.
"The DA has never asked that disciplinary action is taken against persons who use such language. But as soon as the FF Plus pays the ANC back in kind, the DA lays a disciplinary charge against the FF Plus", Jansen van Rensburg said.
According to Jansen van Rensburg it is the worst possible insult to refer to citizens as colonialists and settlers, as you are telling those people: "You do not belong to your country of birth.” These remarks are however often condoned by the ANC and the DA.
"It is time that these double standards are stopped.”
According to the FF Plus it is understandable that name issues which are dealt with wrongly could lead to serious polarization and negative emotions in society. The FF Plus councillors put into words the frustrations which are found in many Afrikaners concerning the disregard and contempt for their heritage and history.
The FF Plus reiterated that a negotiated political mechanism is necessary to deal with a sensitive issue such as the name issue. It is important that all communities are treated with respect and dignity, otherwise it would lead to further polarization in the country.

This is a disgusting development - but not unexpected. The Afrikaners' civil rights are being abused all over South Africa this way. This is an ethnic-cleansing campaign in which their historic presence has to be erased from the entire landscape. Dr Gregory Stanton of Genocide Watch includes this kind of 'ethnic-cleansing of map-names' as part of the genocidal process. Take a look at the description of Genocide on http://www.genocidewatch.org
